Mental skills development for clubs and organizations provides an opportunity for a number of teams to develop mental skills in order to improve performance. Mental skills pertinent to a sport or competitive arena are determined by utilizing past experiences, research findings and discussions with the coach or staff in charge of developing the organization and/or teams.
Examples of session topics include:
- Goal setting
- Being competitive as a group
- Dealing with adversity within a team
- How to handle being favored going into a competition
Sessions are designed and implemented based on the peaking calendar for each particular sport. Periodization is common practice for many sports in order that athletes may peak and valley at appropriate times. At DevelopMental Solutions, we collaborate with coaches and organizations to implement each workshop topic in order to maximize the athletes’ problem solving abilities. As a result, we watch the individuals, as well as the organization; realize victories that go beyond the playing field.
Here is how it works:
- You, the Director of Coaching or leader within the organization, determine that you want your club or organization to learn mental skills over a period of time in order to improve performance.
- We meet to discuss and determine mental skills that your group will need to be successful.
- We meet over time to ensure that you are applying and realizing success with the skills.
- The process can last a month, a season, a year or number of years, depending on how you want to set it up.
